Per Iowa Department of Revenue:You areREQUIREDto complete a Bill fo Sale with every motor vehicle sale/purchaseAND attach a copy to the title at the time of transfer. You must complete a Bill of Sale with every trailer sale/purchaseAND attach a copy to the title/registration at the time oftransferas welleffective January 1, 2022.
It is becoming more common for people to purchase a vehicle from strangers off of the internet - Facebook Marketplace, Craiglist, etc. Get a bill of sale for ALL vehicles purchased this way as well. You should also retain the the seller/buyers phone number, or contact information, in case there is missing information or inaccurate paperwork. If there is need to contact the seller/buyer you will be glad you gathered the contact information.

A service delivery fee of .25 cents will apply, if paying by echeck (enter your bank rounting number and checking account number).

You may searchby Name, AddressorParcel number. It is best to search by LAST NAME, First Initial (less is better when searching) Be sure you select ALL of your parcels, please verify with the statements that were mailed to you.

VEHICLE TAG RENEWALS: You are eligible to renew on-lineif you received a renewal notice through the US Postal Service that contains aPIN Numberfor on-line renewals. Or you may use your AUDIT Number for on-line renewals found on your current vehicle registration, the AUDIT number is located on the left hand side of current registration, about 3/4ths of the way down.If you need assistance please contact our office at 641-673-4618.

- Tax Sale redemptions made betweenJune1 - July 31, must be paid withCERTIFIED FUNDS(cashier check, moneyorder.CERTIFIED FUNDSare also required,upon receipt of Tax Sale CompletedService Affidavit, including 90-Day Notice of Expiration of Right of Redemption. DRIVERS LICENSE:
DRIVERS LICENSE is FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. You MUST contact our office by phone at 641-673-9521 to schedule a drive test or motorcycle test.
Drive tests are available by appointment every TUESDAY MORNING for car drives.
MOTOR CYCLE skill tests are available by appointment every THURSDAY MORNING (weather permitting/seasonal).
REAL ID (Gold Star) will go into affect May 7, 2025.
