New York Session (13:00-21:00 GMT)
Big market-moving potential: 85% of trades involve the US dollar. High liquidity in the morning hours when it overlaps the London session. Most economic news reports are released at the beginning of the session.
That year, five time zones were officially adopted as the US entered World War I: the Eastern, Central, Mountain, Pacific, and Alaska zones, all of which are still in use today.
Nasdaq's pre-market operations let investors start trading at 4 a.m. Eastern time. Electronic communication networks (ECNs) enable investors to trade stocks during aftermarket hours between 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Expanded trading hours let investors instantly react to corporate news and political events.
And during both summer and winter from 8:00 AM-12:00 PM ET, the London session and the New York session overlap. Naturally, these are the busiest times during the trading day because there is more volume when two markets are open at the same time.
The opening period (9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Eastern Time) is often one of the best hours of the day for day trading, offering the biggest moves in the shortest amount of time. A lot of professional day traders stop trading around 11:30 a.m. because that is when volatility and volume tend to taper off.
The best times to day trade
Day traders need liquidity and volatility, and the stock market offers those most frequently in the hours after it opens, from 9:30 a.m. to about noon ET, and then in the last hour of trading before the close at 4 p.m. ET.
Can I day trade 4 times a week?
If you make four or more day trades over the course of any five business days, and those trades account for more than 6% of your account activity over the period, your margin account will be flagged as a pattern day trader account.
The 5 Minute "Momentum" Trading Strategy
As the name suggests, the strategy helps the trader to find momentum bursts on short-term (5-minute) charts. There are two indicators used in this strategy, namely 20-period Exponential Moving Average (EMA) and Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD).
The London session runs during the city's official business hours: from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. GMT. The London session experiences the majority of forex trading of the three main periods and is known for increased volatility and higher liquidity following a typically drowsy Tokyo session.
The U.S. session is the most clearly defined trading session among traders, and it is driven by the working hours of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). The NYSE's regular trading session starts at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m. EST.
Ideal currency pairs to trade during the London session
These include major pairs like EUR/USD, USD/JPY, GBP/USD, and USD/CHF. Perhaps the most affected by the overlap are the EUR/USD, USD/JPY and GBP/USD due to the interbank activities between the United States and Europe/London.
None of the 50 US states have three time zones. However, there are some states with two time zones. These are: Alaska (Alaska and Hawaii-Aleutian)

Some traders follow something called the "10 a.m. rule." The stock market opens for trading at 9:30 a.m., and the time between 9:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. often has significant trading volume. Traders that follow the 10 a.m. rule think a stock's price trajectory is relatively set for the day by the end of that half-hour.
I am a full time stock market trader and my day typically starts from 8:00 AM. Before opening stock market I used to analyse my portfolio technically. After that I find technically strong stocks for trading, and from 9:15 AM to 3:15 PM I fully focused on my trading terminal.
Why do day traders wake up early?
It's when you will end up seeing the bulk of your gains. So, this means you need to get up early and do your research before the start of the regular trading session. Huge moves with the biggest potential gains in a short period tend to come between 9:30 a.m. ET and 10:30 a.m. ET.
Major forex pairs, such as EUR/USD (Euro/US dollar), USD/JPY (US dollar/Japanese yen), and GBP/USD (British pound/US dollar), remain attractive options for night trading due to their liquidity and stable price movements. As these are the most traded pairs in forex, many market participants favour them.
Many traders consider the time frame between 9:30 am to 10:30 am the ideal time to make trades. This is because in the first few hours of the market opening there is usually more volatility and volume which gives more opportunities for the best trades of the day. Is it good to trade early in the morning? Yes.
you can make any number of trades but think about the charges, and second think you are doing scalping means you need good risk management skills and not all scalpes are profitable. in intraday for me two trades are enough some scalpers take 4 to 5.
The 11 am rule suggests that if a market makes a new intraday high for the day between 11:15 am and 11:30 am EST, then it's said to be very likely that the market will end the day near its high.
